Sitter Session
(sit-ter seh-shun) noun.
A photography session in studio with a child around one year or younger that can sit sturdy in an upright position. These sessions include letting the child play, sit on unique furniture, and enjoy some fun outfit changes!
The Studio
The studio is located on our private property in Yelm, Washington. Jordy Marie Photography has been a registered business since 2015 with the studio officially opening in 2020. Prior to opening I would take props, backdrops & lights to the clients’ home!
Almost everything you see in the studio can be used for the photoshoot. If you see something hanging on the wall or sitting on a shelf that you like - let’s add it! For full studio sessions there is unlimited backdrop options as well as unlimited outfit changes. I typically enjoy simple and minimalistic. This ensures your child is the highlight of the photo!
For Those Busy Hands
Kids naturally love to PLAY! I want this to be a fun experience. Your little one is going to run the show - and that is fine! There are plenty of options that look great in photos. These toys will be sprinkled throughout the studio ready to be tinkered with!

Where The Sitters Can Sit
Over the years I have curated a collection of unique furniture. Many of them have a special story. One was handmade by a small business and shipped from Switzerland. Another was purchased second hand and refinished with the help of my father. If you need to sit close to them during the session, no problem! I can easily remove you from the photos.
What To Wear
Go ahead and bring your favorite outfits! The Studio has a client closet stocked with sizes from 6-12 months for both boys and girls available for full studio sessions. There are a few pieces in slightly larger sizes as well!
Is your child older than 12 months? Yearly milestone sessions for their birthday are so much fun at any age and the perfect way to make them feel special!

Are you looking for something special and unique? Let me know if you are interested in one extra artistic image. And before you ask - no this is not AI! Long before AI existed I have been utilizing photoshop and hand creating composite images using what are now old school methods!

FAQ
Can I do a cake smash during a 1 year session?
Absolutely! Make sure to schedule a full studio session as opposed to the micro session. I recommend white or neutral colored cakes with extra frosting! There are 3 cake stands to choose from at the studio that can accommodate 8 inch round cakes.
Is there a restroom or changing area available?
There is no public restroom available, please plan beforehand if possible! (Understandably if there is an emergency our private home will be available. There is a changing screen that will be put up for you and I’m happy to step out of the studio for privacy.
Can we do our family photos in studio?
Due to limitations of space family photos are offered outdoor only with the exception of some tight + snuggly holiday sessions.
What is the difference between the Studio and Micro Studio packages?
The micro studio is a quick 20 minute session with one backdrop and one outfit. This includes 10 digital images. The Studio package comes with the full gallery of 30+ digital images and is roughly 30-45+ minutes long. Unlimited backdrops and outfit changes are an option as well as access to the client closet. Do you see newborns in studio?
Newborn photoshoots are scheduled at your home as lifestyle photoshoots where you are holding baby and enjoying them in an organic way. Check out the previous blog for samples! If you are looking for posed in studio newborn sessions I’m happy to refer you to other local photographers who specifically specialize in that.
